Chris Jericho's new show premiered on Tuesday night in the States on abc. I saw the trailer for the show on YouTube and thought the concept seemed pretty cool (that voice was annoying as hell though). Basically, the show is based at the edge of a building. The contestant has to answer question's to win prizes. The prizes are put on an escalator and the longer the contestant take's to answer, the prize will be slowly going over the edge and falling to the floor.
Obviously we don't have abc here in Ireland so I decided to "get" the show and put it on my iPod. On first impressions, the show was pretty cool. It's set in LA on, what they claim be a 100ft skyscraper (realistically it's about 10ft). Jericho really is excellent as a host for this show. He's pretty funny and very light-hearted on it. The rules were given out and they are: the conveyor belt holds replicas of all the cash and prizes that the contestants stand to win. The game consists of up to seven timed rounds during which players attempt to answer category-based trivia questions as they watch their potential winnings move along the belt. Each contestant must correctly answer the questions as quickly as possible before the cash and prizes fall off the building. The first five rounds hold three prizes each. The first prize is located one-quarter of the way down the belt, the second is at the halfway mark, the third is three-quarters of the way down and the cash, ranging from $5,000 to $1,000,000 depending on the current level, is at the end.
Contestants can answer a question as many times as they wish; contestants stay on a question until it is answered correctly or he/she chooses to pass it and go to a new question in the category. Every time a question is passed, the belt gets faster. If the cash prize falls before a contestant completes a round, the player loses and the game is over. After each round, players can choose to keep what they have won or continue to the next round. The final round, worth one million dollars, features the contestant sitting on the belt with the money and having to correctly answer all the questions before falling off the edge.
If a contestant feels he/she cannot answer their remaining questions before all prizes fall, they may hit the "panic button" at the podium. Use of the button ends the current round and allows the contestant to replay the level with a new category from the list. The button may be used twice: once to allow the contestant to "surrender a personal possession" and once to get help from a friend or family member. When a contestant chooses to surrender a possession, an item of great importance to him/her is placed before the cash on the belt and, in order to salvage the item, the contestant must complete the round before the item falls. When help from a companion is desired, the partner is strapped into the safety harness and placed in front of the cash on the belt. The contestant's companion can help by shouting answers but all final answers must come from the contestant. If the companion falls, he/she can no longer be of use but the round continues until the cash falls.
Anyway, the show was pretty good. There was some very funny moments - A question of fast food came up and you had to guess where ___ was sold. The contestant said something Italian was sold in KFC, prompting Jericho to ask "When's the last time you last saw something Italian in Kentucky?" Another moment was when the 1st contestent revealed she used to work in Hooters.
Overall, it's a great show and is worth checking out. In fact, here is the 1st episode:
Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5
It apparantly got nearly 6 million viewers, which is pretty good, and I'm looking forward to next week's edition already.

Some TNA news and thoughts (WARNING! - contains the letter's ECW)
TNA wants Paul Heyman to be involved in their ECW angle and behind the scenes, assume control of the creative direction of the company. TNA president Dixie Carter has been calling Heyman inquiring, and according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Spike TV has also been involved in the discussions.
If Heyman would agree to terms, Vince Russo would leave the creative department, but remain with the company in a different capacity. Currently, the former ECW boss is working on marketing Brock Lesnar, has two book projects he's working on, and has a creative agency. On a side note, Spike has given the company the green light to be more hardcore
So TNA wants Heyman in? Christ, this company is all over the place. Imo, TNA is the 1 wrestling company with no real sense of direction. Ever since Hogan and Bischoff came aboard, it's gotten worse. Gone were stars like Christopher Daniels and Awesome Kong, in came Scott Hall, Sean Waltman and the Nasty Boys. Gone was the 6 sided ring that made TNA unique, in came a 4 sided ring with a ramp. Over the past 6 months of Hogan's reign (yeah, it's been 6 months), TNA has been all over the place. AJ Styles becoming Flair Jr, Hogan and Abyss with the "magically powerful" WWE Hall of Fame ring (Obviously makes sense having a storyline with your competitors HoF ring giving you superpowers), AJ stabbing Pope with a pen in the eye, Abyss getting slashed on broken glass, AJ getting slammed in through the ring, Abyss being framed, someone getting beaten up backstage every week, not enough time to be able to soak in what happend as they move on to something else straight away, Backwards booking (see RVD's intro into TNA), Flair taking a bump on thumbtacks and finally, BLOOD. LOT'S OF IT
Give them some credit though, over the past few week's, their product has improved (the Enigmatic Assholes, Lethal mimicing Flair etc..) but TNA still has a lot to do. Maybe it's looking up for them but this is TNA so we don't know where it'll go. Maybe they'll swerve us for the 1,215 time this year

Up and running
I guess with Walter's post, we're up and running with the blog.
I'm D2D and no, I haven't thought of a name like "Walter's weekly ramble" or something like that for my posts. I'll be posting blogs/reviews on things like PPV's (I'll try to do 1 on F4W asap) and weekly TV programmes (Raw, SD, NXT, iMPACT!).
I'm really into music as well so I'll be posting links to all songs related to wrestling (Money in the Bank theme). I'm also into DVD's so I'll post about any new DVD's/Blu-Rays as well.
1 last thing, I'm part of the BWE booking theme (you prob know that sonce I'm whoring the hell outta it) so I'll be posting about that as well.

"Walters Weekly Ramble"
Well well well, lads this is pretty cool, a PW forum blog amd whatnot. Big time thanks to D2D for this neat little idea, obviously my first post could be me talking about this or that, but maybe a ramble in preperation for the podcast with Diabhal Beag could be fun, maybe not so fun for you guys to read though(Dammit wheres Pacman when i need him?)
So big week in wrestling for the Irish lads round the world with Sheamus and also Prince Devitt both winning major titles this week, having seen them both wrestle on the Irish scene back in the day its goddam awesome to see them both on top, and both on opposite ends of the wrestling spectrum, Sheamus in the "Sports Enterainment" side of things and Devitt in the stiff "Puroresu" of the land of the Rising Sun..
Im absolutely loving the Jericho/Bourne fued, WWE must have been reading the ATH Match between me and Danger Dave?(Insert Pacman Face_:) Honestly has anyone put over more young talent in WWE then Y2J? More than HHH,Taker,Cena and HBK combined i'd reckon
The other big time talking point atm(for me anyways) has to be the NXT angle, fuck i have to say its the most exciting angle WWE has done since becoming WWE. Everything about the angle so far has been unreal, in particular Wade Barretts mic work, obviously having Jericho as his mentor rubbed off on the guy.. Although i do have to admit, i was nearly pulling my hair out when the "NXT 7" came out to apologise on Raw, i was cursing the WWE booking team(Hire the BWE lads Vince, we all know you read our shows, we know the your the BWEasel Vince;) ...) But the turn on Vince at the end of the show was another brillliant move, and im personally very invested in this storyline and cant wait to see where it goes..
The other obvious talking point of the angle is Bryan Danielson.. Is it a work? Is it for real? Personally i still think its a work, for these reasons, why the fuck would WWE build this guy up and then release him, to possibly go to TNA, MMA or whatever other outlet for him to make them money, i dont care about whether WWE is PG or not, at the end of the day lads, controversay creates cash, and Vince loves press, whether its good or bad, he loves it.. And i HIGHLY doubt Danielson would have choken out Justin Roberts without the go ahead of both the WWE agents, and creative team/Vince or Steph, who would have told him, exactly what to do in the segement, and ultimately to go out and do it.. But for me the most important reason for it being a work, is that this angle from the start has been to work the internet, everything from the losing streak, to Daniel Bryan acknownledging his work pre WWE and his real name, to the Michael Cole/JR promo, from the Start WWE have absolutely made Danielson be the voice of the Internet fans(And for those who say the internet is a minority, then wake up will ya dude?, The internet has expanded wrestling more in the last 5 years with WWE.com and Youtube/Justin.tv etc having constant access to all wrestling matches at all times, 24/7 then ever before..) WWE have had Danielson literally be the voice of every single fan, who then gets behind their keyboard and gives out about HHH's use of the shovel or bitches that John Cena cant wrestle, and its damn smart of WWE to use the biggest darling of the "Internet era of Wrestling" against the smarks in my honest opinion.. So ultimately when Danielson is revealed as the Apple Mac GM, i shall say i told you so, but if it doesnt happen, well you read my blog post wrongly:)
Right dudes thanks for reading this unmitigated bullshit, im off to watch Trailer Park Boys:)
