TNA wants Paul Heyman to be involved in their ECW angle and behind the scenes, assume control of the creative direction of the company. TNA president Dixie Carter has been calling Heyman inquiring, and according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Spike TV has also been involved in the discussions.
If Heyman would agree to terms, Vince Russo would leave the creative department, but remain with the company in a different capacity. Currently, the former ECW boss is working on marketing Brock Lesnar, has two book projects he's working on, and has a creative agency. On a side note, Spike has given the company the green light to be more hardcore
So TNA wants Heyman in? Christ, this company is all over the place. Imo, TNA is the 1 wrestling company with no real sense of direction. Ever since Hogan and Bischoff came aboard, it's gotten worse. Gone were stars like Christopher Daniels and Awesome Kong, in came Scott Hall, Sean Waltman and the Nasty Boys. Gone was the 6 sided ring that made TNA unique, in came a 4 sided ring with a ramp. Over the past 6 months of Hogan's reign (yeah, it's been 6 months), TNA has been all over the place. AJ Styles becoming Flair Jr, Hogan and Abyss with the "magically powerful" WWE Hall of Fame ring (Obviously makes sense having a storyline with your competitors HoF ring giving you superpowers), AJ stabbing Pope with a pen in the eye, Abyss getting slashed on broken glass, AJ getting slammed in through the ring, Abyss being framed, someone getting beaten up backstage every week, not enough time to be able to soak in what happend as they move on to something else straight away, Backwards booking (see RVD's intro into TNA), Flair taking a bump on thumbtacks and finally, BLOOD. LOT'S OF IT
Give them some credit though, over the past few week's, their product has improved (the Enigmatic Assholes, Lethal mimicing Flair etc..) but TNA still has a lot to do. Maybe it's looking up for them but this is TNA so we don't know where it'll go. Maybe they'll swerve us for the 1,215 time this year
